The King's Academy

The King's Academy opened in south Middlesbrough in 2003 bringing together staff and students from two secondary schools and a school for the deaf in a brand new building for 1,200 students.

It has seen significant improvement in attainment since then and continues to be one of the most oversubscribed schools in Middlesbrough. The academy has a higher than average percentage of students with special educational needs, particularly physical disabilities and visual or hearing impairments. Students of all faiths and many of no faith choose The King's knowing it has a clear and distinctive Christian ethos that values each and every child equally, without exception.
