Trinity Academy was built in 2005 to serve the communities of Thorne and Moorends, near Doncaster, after the Emmanuel Schools Foundation was invited to bring its successful record in education to South Yorkshire.
The academy has raised both attainment and aspiration, and 80 per cent of students now go on to top universities, many being the first members of their family to enter higher education. A £1.2m purpose-built sixth form centre was added in 2014.
The academy has been praised by Ofsted for its relentless drive towards improvement and for the pride shown by students in their school. It is rated 'outstanding' for value added.
