Trinity students graduate from the junior academy

STUDENTS have been recognised for reaching a milestone in their educational journey

STUDENTS have been recognised for reaching a milestone in their educational journey.

More than 180 parents, siblings and family members came together at Trinity Academy, in Thorne, to see students in Year 8 graduate from the junior academy.

The ceremony is the culmination of two years of hard work from students, who are generally aged 13, supported by their teachers and families.

Each student was awarded a certificate presented on stage by Principal David Page. Several were also nominated for special awards for outstanding endeavour throughout the academic year.

Director of key stage three, Shaun McArthur, explained: “Graduation into Year 9 requires students to reach goals throughout key stage three and to display the correct level of effort in their studies.

“It’s right that we recognise their hard work with our graduation ceremony, which is a wonderful occasion and celebration, as well as a way to inspire students to think about university in the future.”

The next landmark in the students’ education is their GCSE examinations at the end of Year 11.
